Reasons for Tree Pruning/Pollarding
Pollarding is the method of pruning that keeps trees and shrubs smaller than they would naturally grow. It is normally started once a tree or shrub reaches a certain height, and annual pollarding will restrict the shrub or tree to that height.
This will prevent trees or shrubs outgrowing their allotted space or to reduce the shade cast by the tree and can let in natural light into the property.
Pollarding a tree is usually done annually and would need to be carried out every few years to avoid potential problems.
